Never seal drill holes with silicone again.
Reliable sealing in wet areas is mandatory in accordance with the specifications of DIN 18534 and ETAG 022. Until now, these drill holes have always been very elaborately sealed with silicone or other sealing compound. This not only causes additional costs, but also involves a lot of time. In addition, silicone does not meet the above-mentioned sealing standards, as this is only a temporary solution and must be improved regularly. Insufficient sealing of the drill holes can lead to structural damage and mould due to moisture behind the wall. With the fischer DuoSeal and the matching stainless steel screw, drill holes can be sealed watertight in the wet area for the first time without additional sealing compound.
The DuoSeal was tested with the screw included in the set by the testing and certification institute of the Acid Fliesen Association e. V. independently. The water tightness is verified in accordance with ETAG 022 and DIN 18534 up to water exposure class W3-I.
Taking into account the national and international sealing standards in wet areas, the DuoSeal in combination with the enclosed screw is suitable for applications in commercial, private and public wet areas, which are very frequently exposed to splashing water and temporary stagnant water. The generally applicable national regulations for the use of anchors in wet areas must be observed. For the German market, it is recommended to use the DuoSeal only up to water exposure class W1-I, as unplanned penetrations from W2-I according to DIN 18534 are not yet planned.
