Anchor for the world's tallest statue

fischer fixing solutions prove their worth in India

Anchor for the world's tallest statue
The "Statue of Unity" is about twice as high as the Statue of Liberty in New York City. The structure, which took three and a half years to complete, is located near the city of Vadodara, in the westernmost Indian state of Gujarat. It is dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a Gujarati-born leader in India's struggle for independence. He was hailed as the country's "Iron Man" for his role as an activist against the British colonial power and in the subsequent founding of the state in 1947.
The dimensions of the project are enormous. Together with its base, the statue rises as much as 240 metres above the ground and stands in a setting of two hectares, framed by an artificial twelve-square-metre lake. The site is equipped with modern transport infrastructure such as motorways, an improved railway system and helipads. In addition, the construction of 7-star hotels and other infrastructure measures are in the planning stage. The construction consists of two reinforced concrete cylinders inside, surrounded by a steel skeleton. On the outside, the statue is clad with 8 millimetre thick bronze plates. The engineering office Larsen & Toubro and the construction company Turner relied on numerous fischer fixing products as contractors.
