Substructures and around 8,000 FZP II undercut anchors from fischer BWM Fassadensysteme were used in the renovation of an important war memorial in Honolulu. Since 14 March 2018, the former BWM Dübel und Montagetechnik GmbH has been part of the fischer group of companies from the northern Black Forest.
In a picturesque natural setting in Honolulu, Hawaii, is the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Because the site was built inside a volcanic crater, it is colloquially known as the Punchbowl Cemetery. Along with Pearl Harbor, this is another Honolulu landmark and famous memorial. The site is dedicated to some 53,000 soldiers who gave their lives in several wars.
An important place on the large grounds is the memorial for those who died in the Second World War. However, as it was in poor condition, the National Cemetery Administration decided to renovate it. The planning was in the hands of the US Army Corps of Engineers. The fischer group of companies was also involved in this historic project. The task was to replace the natural stone slabs with the names of the fallen engraved on them over an area of around 1,200 square metres. To fix the slabs, which are about 60 centimetres wide and 90 centimetres high, securely and firmly into the concrete walls, around 8,000 of the fischer FZP II undercut anchors in the 13x30 M8/SO/13 AL version were used together with the fischer BWM ATK 103 P aluminium support structure.

The ATK 103 P aluminium support structure was used for this, including the 150 mm long-field grabs that fischer BWM manufactured especially for this project in Gorleben. Together with the fischer Zykon panel anchors, the solutions concealed and invisible to the outside fasten the natural stone panels securely and firmly in the concrete. With the fischer BWM ATK 103 systems, even different material thicknesses can be combined economically thanks to the patented "envelope principle". The skilful interaction of fischer FZP undercut anchors and fischer BWM substructures formed the optimum solution for the project. After renovation, the memorial now once again offers an immaculate and long-lasting memorial.
