Ultimately, the system was tested in several fire tests to ensure its suitability. The Fischer FNA II A4 nail anchor was used with an installed number of more than 1.7 million units. “The fact that our FNA II A4 is proven to be ideally suited for tunnel fire protection, as well as being easy and quick to process, was one of the strong arguments here,” emphasises Daniel Jäger, Head of Industry Key Account Management at fischer Deutschland Vertriebs GmbH, who played a key role in supporting the project. “The FNA II also meets the high requirements for wind-suction loads and durability in the project and is also suitable for the sensitive concrete as an anchoring base.” A few installation steps were sufficient for the implementation: The fire protection panel was simply positioned on the wall or ceiling, the drill hole was drilled through both and then the dowel was inserted into the through-hole assembly using a compressed air setting device to save time. When loaded, the FNA II automatically adjusts its spread. The cone is pulled into the expansion clip and tensions it against the drill hole. "The FNA II is very well suited for this application as it is very easy to use. Simply drill the hole, drive in the nail anchor – and you’re done! Once set, it guarantees its function for a very long time," confirms Sven Burgard and emphasises: "Togetherness in a project of this size is crucial for the positive outcome. Once again, fischer has proven itself as a reliable partner in terms of quality, punctuality and reliability."
