The wooden building houses recreational activities and opportunities for environmental education related to the national park on around 3,000 square metres. These include exhibitions, a cinema, catering and event rooms, as well as the Skywalk, a bridge at the height of the treetops leading to a viewing tower. Both facilities offer a wide view of the treetops. In addition, there is a 700 square metre administrative building.
The wooden substructure for the facade surface is securely and firmly fastened to the building sections E and F with Fisch SXR long-shaft anchors in concrete. A version with a diameter of 10 mm and an anchor length of 200 mm was selected. The T version with countersunk head screw is ideal for fastening wooden structures. To date, around 2,000 anchors have been used. In addition, the fischer Power-Fast FPF-ST 6.0 x 180 A2P 100 chipboard screws are used to screw the wooden substructure together. The partially threaded screws with countersunk head are made of stainless steel A2 for external fastenings. The number of units is currently 6,000. Holzbau Schaible GmbH from Wildberg is the executing company.
