In Taiwan, a wide variety of cultures and religions come together, such as Daoism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam and Jewishness – often even within a family. The free exercise of faith is enshrined in the Constitution. A new house of worship and congress centre is being built in Da Zhi, in the Zhongshan district of Taipei, covering an area of more than 20,000 sqm (215,500 sf) for the minority of Christians among Taiwanese residents, as well as all local residents and tourists. The substantial completion of the project is well advanced and is expected to be completed in 2021. The building already impresses today with its modern architecture designed by HCW Architects & Associates in Taipei.
